Prerequisites: This
course is designed for students who have completed B & W Intensive I,
B & W photographer I or have equivalent experience.
Objective:
The B & W Photographer 2 Course will give experienced students the ability
to manipulate B&W film to suit the photographic conditions, assist in
pre-visualisation and improved printing skills. The class will work towards
a group exhibition or preparing a portfolio.

- Creating a style / selecting a subject
- Project Abstract Vision
Week 2
- Student Slide Show
- Open discussion and critique
- Create Film Processing Charts
- Exposure / Processing Techniques for Push & Pull Processing
- B & W Film and Developer Selection
Week 3
- B & W Film processing, proofing and printing
- Exposure / Processing Techniques for Push & Pull Processing (continued)
- B & W Film and Developer Selection (continued)
- Q & A problem solving
- Slide Presentation
- discussion on composition
Week 4
- Advanced Printing Technique (Split Grade)
- Fibre Base Archival Printing
- Q & A Problem Solving
Week 5
- Advanced Printing Technique (Split Grade) - continued
- Print finishing & spotting

Week 6
- Introduction to basic Studio Lighting
- Introduction to Medium Format Cameras
Week 7
- View results from 35mm & Medium Format films
- View results from various developing techniques
- Group Discussion on progress to exhibition / portfolio
