Day 2 - 4 hours
- Project 2 Due
- The use of filters in B & W photography
- RC Papers, contrasts and finishes
- Film Processing , proofing and printing
- Appraisal of camera, exposure and processing techniques
- Darkroom revision of printing technique
- Open class discussion and critique
- Slide presentation - discussion on composition
- Project 3 set
Day 3 - 4 hours
- Project 3 Due
- Q & A - Problem solving
- Film Processing , proofing and printing
- Printing refinements - dodging, burning, negative sandwiching, diffusing
- Open class discussion and critique
- Slide presentation - discussion on composition
- Project 4 set
Day 4 - 4hours
- Project 4 Due
- Q & A - Problem solving
- Film Processing , proofing and printing
- Open discussion
- review of completed projects
- Mentor will assist in editing the final works
- Print Finishing, spotting and trimming
Day 5 - Free 4 hours - (Flying solo)
The darkroom area will be made available to complete assignments. Mentor
will oversee the final work output.
Prerequisites: This course is designed for students who have completed
B & W Intensive I, B & W photographer I or have equivalent experience.
Objective: The B & W Intensive II Course will give experienced
students the ability to manipulate B&W film to suit the photographic conditions,
assist in previsualisation and improved printing skills.
