Give your mind a vacation for a while …experience the beauty of this sometimes brutal world.

Emerging artist and compulsive traveller, Allira Cornell will be featuring works from recent travels through America encompassing Route 66, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Yosemite in her first solo exhibition at the Creative Photography Centre during April.

'Motionless Meandering' is the first step of an ongoing series in what Allira describes as "a life-long journey to see the world, to capture it and hold it up to the light so that others may see what I have experienced."

"Allira's work is an expression of American landscapes viewed through really fresh, innocent eyes," said John de Lombardo, founder and the CPC gallery.

"The colours are incredibly rich and vibrant with the overall result really capturing that American feel without the repetitiveness that you sometimes get with seasoned photographers."

Opening night is Friday April 11th from 7pm at CPC, 46 Acacia St, Arts and Industry Estate in Byron Bay with refreshments provided.

"A friend commented that she felt as though she had been on a holiday when I showed her, perhaps this exhibition will let your mind have a vacation for a while," says Allira of her current works.

"At a time when judgement seems all too easy and opinions are curbed by global tension, I want to prove that one can still find beauty in this sometimes brutal world."

Ends.
