The Creative Photography Centre was established in 2002
as a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy the wonderful
art of photography.
Set in the beautiful environment of Byron Bay, and part of its
extraordinary community, CPC specialises in courses and workshops
in black and white photography for everyone from rank beginners
to experienced practitioners.
Our central philosophy is that students learn
the fine art of blending creativity with technique, so that they
can expand and realise their unique vision. We want people to
previsualise an image, and have the skill to then create it.
We have a spacious, well equipped community darkroom
in which as many as ten
people at a time can use our excellent printing facilities. Our
processing area is just as
well-appointed. We also have extensive studio space and equipment
for classes and to hire.
CPC's resident
mentors are both professional photographers with an abiding fascination
and love of the art. They wish to share this with their students
and visitors, who they hope to inspire to greater photographic
achievements and, above all, enjoyment.
